Certificate Program

Program length: 14 months daytime; 22 months evenings
This course is approximately 50 percent classroom training and 50 percent hands-on training.

Today's world runs on diesel, and this program will get you started on a career that could have you working on big rigs, cruise ships, offshore drilling platforms, power stations, farm equipment, railroads, or mining equipment.

In this program you'll learn to diagnose malfunctions and make repairs on diesel engines, suspension and steering, air brakes, electrical/electronics, drive train, HVAC, and hydraulics. You'll also learn to perform preventative maintenance.

  • Students work on Cat, Cummins, Detroit and Volvo engines, to name a few.
  • Our diesel instructors have years of hands-on experience.
  • As part of your program you will have the opportunity to do an externship in the diesel industry to gain real-world experience while you earn college credit.
