Additionally, students are eligible to earn digital “badges.” A badge is a clickable online record that provides evidence of academic achievement directly from the college. This is a portable electronic way in which to provide evidence of skills mastery.

Internships and two days of community service strengthen students’ resumes so that they can be competitive in the job market right out of college. A student may come into the program straight from high school or enter the program from the working world to bolster job skills. Individuals will complete internship in a real business setting with a local company prior to graduating. These opportunities to gain experience are consistent with Western Technical College's commitment since 1970 to serving as a College for the Real World.
