Western Technical College

Western Technical College’s Internship Program presents employers with aunique opportunity to get a preview of a student’s talent and level of expertise while the student applies what he/she learned in their coursework in a real-lifesetting. These beneficial relationships make both sides winners. All electronics and information systems students are required to participate in a 160-hour Internship as part of their Associate degree requirements. There is no cost to being an Internship host, and students understand that they will serve without pay to get the experience.

Electronic Engineering Technology (EET)

In their hands-on program, students will work on a variety of electronics: communications equipment, fiber optics equipment, automation equipment, and other electronic devices. Students will be eligible to test for professional certifications such as Associate-level Certified Electronics Technician, Journeyman Electronics Technicians in Communications and Industrial, High Reliability Hand Soldering, Fiber Optics Association, and CompTIA A+ and Network+. As part of your program, students will have the opportunity to do an Internship in the industry while in school.
