Western Technical College is pleased to announce its partnership with Matco Tools Technical Education Program to open a Matco Tools Bookstore for students. Allan Sharpe, President of Western Technical College says, “For the past eight years we have done business with Matco Tools and this agreement has recently come about. We are proud to make Matco Tools, the exclusive tool of Western Technical College and offer our students this incredible incentive in their learning environment.”

To launch this partnership Matco Tools will provide a Motorsports Technology Day with National Hot Rod Association’s #1 standing top fuel dragster, Antron Brown. Brown will be a special guest at the ribbon cutting ceremony and on hand for autograph signing facilitated by the El Paso Chamber of Commerce for the new addition at the Eastside Main Branch campus on March 31.

Matco’s Tech Ed Program is a key component in providing students with the latest in tools and equipment allowing them to stay on top of the technology in today’s repair industry. The Tech Ed partnership will offer SC program, High School Certificate Programs and Performance Tuner Certificate programs.”

The twin turbo 502 ci Nova was dynoed with the new fuel injection setup. The Big Stuff ecu was installed inplace of the Demon blow through carb, and with only 7 psi of boost the Nova put over 740hp to the wheels and over 700 lb*ft of torque. This was with 91 octane. Will update when the Nova receives race fuel and more boost. Stay tuned.
