Matco Tool Day Brings The Best!

    This spring brought with it a visit from Antron Brown, driver of the 8,000 horsepower Don Schumacher Racing-owned Matco Tools/U.S. Army Top Fuel dragster and his racing crew at Western Technical College’s (WTC) Main Campus. College is Schure About Its Sponsorship!

    Western Technical College (WTC) couldn’t have chosen a more winning racer to sponsor. Not only is Brandon Schure a winner on the race track with his decked-out built from scratch sprint car that can reach speeds of 190 miles per hour, but off the track he is one of the kindest and most generous gentlemen as is evident in the support he draws from his pit crew of family and friends. College Hosts Skills USA for 4th Consecutive Year

    For the fourth consecutive year, Western Technical College has hosted the Skills USA competition at both of its two campuses, where local high school students contend for not only prizes and place rankings in their area of study but also scholarships from Western Tech.

Chavez Couple Moves Forward in Education

    Sharon and David Chavez have been together for four years this past March, and though they are both El Pasoans, even coming from rival high schools- Riverside and Bel Air, they met in a style fitting of this technological time, on True.com.  David says he met Sharon after touring in the military in Iraq, and after they connected on-line, they decided to meet in person and got to know each other by “going for a ride.” Maybe it was Sharon’s love of cars that aided in bringing these two together. Currently, both of the Chavez’ attends Western Technical College.
