This year Western Tech College (TEAMS) will participate in the 4th Annual First Light Federal Credit Union Sun Bowl Parade Clothing Drive and Business Challenge. The challenge will begin September 16, 2013, and run through November 4, 2013.
The Sun Bowl Association, Vand the YWCA have joined forces with Goodwill Industries to honor the organization that collect the highest poundage of clothing. With almost 300,000 people attending the parade, this is a great opportunity to promote WTC to the City of El Paso. The organization/company that collects the highest poundage of clothing will be awarded the use of a pre-built float valued at $10,000 and advertisement of the company name. They will also have the opportunity to have one company vehicle in the parade, and be allowed to have participants walk alongside the float in the 2013 First Light Federal Credit Union Sun Bowl Parade on Thanksgiving Day!
Every Group entered in the business challenge that collects 2,500 pounds or more will be allowed to have up to 10 individuals march in the parade and carry the company banner. Clothing collected will benefit the American Red Cross, El Paso Armed Services, YMCA, La Casa, and Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home. We are asking for everyone’s help to win this challenge!
Collection Containers will be placed at both campuses September 16, 2013 (Diana Student Break Room) (Plaza employee break room hallway). Clothing must be in good condition, bundled and/or in plastic bags. Clothes may also be dropped off at Student Services office from now until November 4, 2013.
