What qualities do employers look for in the perfect candidate?

It seems that now a days, it is tougher and tougher to land a job.  It seems as if employers are becoming pickier and their standards are getting higher and higher.   To list a few, here are the main things that they look for in a person when going through the interview process:

1-      They want to assure that you are qualified for the particular position.  An employer wants to make sure that you will be able to take on the tasks and the demands that a particular position calls for. 

2-      Do you play well with others? An employer wants to assure that you would be able to work well with others.   If an individual is not a team player, there may be issues within the business or department in the future.   One that is not out going, very unhappy, and is not very friendly may not be one of the top candidates when conducting interviews. 

3-      Are you open to new ideas?  An employer wants to know if you are flexible to change.  If so, that means that you would be able to provide new ideas and aid with the Company moving forward and improving.   

4-      A great work ethic is very valuable.  An employer wants to know that they can count on you to be on time, not make calling off a habit, and most importantly complete tasks that your job calls for.
