Scholarships & Awards
Western Technical College provides a large number of scholarships and awards to both new and returning students each year, and our Financial Aid Office helps students locate and apply for outside scholarships as well. Scholarships are available in addition to federal, state and local financial aid programs, and it is well worth the effort to investigate scholarships for which you might be eligible.

CCST (Career Colleges and Schools of Texas) Scholarships
Western Tech participates in the Career Colleges and Schools of Texas (CCST) scholarship program, which is available for high school seniors in both public and private high schools in Texas. The scholarship award is valued at $1,000.00, and each school receives 10 scholarship certificates per calendar year. The scholarship can be redeemed at participating colleges and universities throughout the state. The selection process is done at each high school and only high school counselor(s) may award a scholarship. The career school and high school counselor are both notified when a scholarship is issued. Scholarship recipients must graduate high school in the same school year (September-June) as the issue date of the scholarship, and the deadline for awarding scholarships is August 31 of the year that the student graduates from high school. Prospects that submit a CCST scholarship that falls outside of the accepted dates will not be eligible for acceptance at WTC. Please see your Texas high school career center or school counselor for CCST scholarship information.
Western Tech Scholarship Fund
Western Technical College has partnered with the Paso del Norte Charitable Foundation to establish the Western Tech Scholarship Fund for training and education for current and prospective students in the El Paso region. Western Tech made an initial gift of $30,000 to start the fund which will be used to leverage additional funding through contribution and grant support.
To qualify for the Western Tech Scholarship fund you must be a current Western Tech student or be an applicant and have already started the enrollment process. You must also have a high school diploma or a GED (which can be earned through the Western Tech program).

High School Senior Scholarships
According to federal reports, the vast majority of new jobs in the U.S. do not require a traditional four-year degree, but will require training beyond high school. Scholarships aimed at high school seniors encourage them to enter high-tech career training. Secondarily, these programs assist economically disadvantaged students who, although academically capable, may not otherwise be able to fully afford specialized career training.
Western Technical College awards five (5) scholarships from each of our (13) eligible programs of study every year to all school districts throughout the Southwest Region. The awarded scholarships will be applied towards current tuition using the following formula:
- 1st. place will receive 25% off tuition
- 2nd. place will receive 20% off tuition
- 3rd. place will receive 15% off tuition
- 4th. place will receive 10% off tuition
- 5th. place will receive 5% off tuition
Deadline to submit the High School Senior Scholarship application is Wednesday, May 16th, 2018! http://www.westerntech.edu/highschool/
