U.S. government shutdown. Question or concerns on student financial aid and/or VA educational benefits

January 22, 2018

Greetings Western Technical College Students and Future Students,

In light of the recent U.S. government shutdown, there may be concerns or questions regarding how your student financial aid and/or VA educational benefits may be impacted.  The U. S. Department of Education Federal Student Aid (FSA) office has communicated that the shutdown should not affect student financial aid at this time. It has also been confirmed with the Veteran Administration, that GI Bill payments are unlikely to be affected due to the brief shutdown.

Western Technical College is closely monitoring any and all updates from the US Department of Education, the Veteran Administration, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) and Career Education Colleges and Universities (CECU).

We will continue to update you should there be any substantial changes that may affect funding for your education.

Please feel free to reach out to our financial office should you have any questions regarding your current financial aid status.

Western Technical College is dedicated in assisting and supporting you with meeting your educational goals and we encourage you to stay focused on your education. Have a great week!

Yours Respectfully,
Brad Kuykendall
