Do you stress and not sleep the night before you have an interview? Well you are not alone. Many job seekers undergo the same stress and sleepless nights. We as humans tend to put more pressure on ourselves. I believe it is the fear of the unknown. We do not know what interviews are going to be asked and we don’t know what type of person will be conducting the interview. Time to time I get asked what type of questions is the employer going to ask in an interview? Unfortunately no one is handed a sheet of exact questions that will be asked in an interview. We can only prepare mentally and provide good examples as we answer the questions. Some general questions that an employer may ask in an interview are listed below. Take a moment and think about how would you answer them?
Tell me about yourself?
Why should I hire you?
Tell me what you know about us?
These questions may sound simple but just when you are about to answer your mind draws a blank. For example in the first question, tell me about yourself? You never want to say anything personal such as your age or about your family. You want tell them about you, as a professional, such as you are a motivated individual with customer service experience. You can inform them about your volunteer work, certifications and/or credentials. You don’t want to lie and you always want to be positive. So for your next interview, research the company and mentally prepare yourself to answer the interview questions to the best of your knowledge.
