Program length: 15 months daytime; 21 months evenings (For nine-month program, students must have completed previous automotive training.)
This course is approximately 50 percent classroom training and 50 percent hands-on training. Today's cars have very sophisticated electronic computer controls systems designed to produce excellent power and response while maintaining optimum gas mileage and emissions. Technicians trained to work on this high-tech equipment have many career opportunities awaiting them.
This program includes training in interior and exterior modifications, power trains and transmissions, performance brakes and suspensions, electrical/electronics systems, engine design and modification, engine performance, fuel systems and PCM programming, nitrous, turbo, superchargers and more. As part of your program you will have the opportunity to do an externship in the automotive performance industry to gain real-world experience while you earn college credit.
